This elegant sideboard was manufactured by the Danish furniture maker Oman Jun during the 1960s. The piece is distinguished by its clean, timeless form, characteristic of Danish Mid-Century Modern design, and its striking doors veneered in beautifully figured rosewood, arranged in a decorative symmetrical grain pattern. The slender tapered legs give the sideboard a sense of visual lightness and understated elegance.
The cabinet is veneered in rosewood. Behind the pair of doors is a thoughtfully designed interior divided into two compartments. Each section is fitted with a shelf and a practical shallow drawer lined with black felt, ideal for storing jewellery, documents, or other small valuables. The sideboard showcases the outstanding craftsmanship and carefully considered detailing for which Danish furniture of the period is renowned.
The piece has undergone comprehensive woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in a rosewood colour, and finished with high-quality Danish oil, which enhances the depth of the wood grain while providing durable surface protection.
